WHAT IS AN ANNUAL FUND

The Annual Fund provides the opportunity to come together for two common purposes:

  1. To live and breathe our REACH principles of Altruism and Commitment to community.
  2. To provide gifts that have both an immediate impact and help shape the future of CA.

This campaign is an opportunity for every family, every year to make our school a better place for students. Gifts from Board members, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends support student programs, classroom resources, facility enhancements, bursaries, and other school wide priority projects.

Funds raised provide CEO Dr. Greg Bass and Principal Tim Carlson with funding to enrich student life and respond to emerging opportunities.

Everyone who donates to the Annual Fund invests in our future of innovation and creativity.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Government grants and tuition paid by CA families cover our basic operating budget, including salaries, utilities, and campus maintenance, but funding for enhanced programming, classroom resources, and bursaries requires independent resources. Annual Fund donations allow us to make choices, not compromises, and achieve prominence in the areas not covered by tuition. These gifts are beyond tuition–they provide the additional resources that make CA truly extraordinary.

The Annual Fund will also be used to support a variety of initiatives, such as the Junior Science Lab transformation, purchasing Loop Booths, playground equipment and whiteboards, and program improvements and resources for drama, music, arts, STEAM, and robotics.

All students and teachers benefit from the Annual Fund!

2021 KNIGHTS BUS CAMPAIGN

In 2021, our fundraising campaign helped CA purchase a brand-new Knights bus. This incredible addition to the school’s fleet is on the road daily safely transporting our students on field trips, athletic competitions, and other school excursions.

JUNIOR SCIENCE LAB TRANSFORMATION

Wireless digital science sensors from PASCO, Hoffman apparatus, beakers, test tubes, microscopes, hot plates, desks, chairs, storage.

LOOP BOOTHS

Private soundproof pods designed for open hybrid work and school environments, learning commons, and public spaces. Designed to adapt, these pods and modular collaborative spaces help make the most of our space now and as we grow.

We’re better together

For over 40 years, Calgary Academy has been a school with humble beginnings and transformative impact on thousands of students’ lives. This is just the beginning of the Calgary Academy story.

Each year, CA families will be asked to contribute to the Annual Fund, and each year, we aim to increase participation and donations. Your gift, big or small, supports the important work we do for our students today, and strengthens our legacy for the next 40 years.

How much should I give?

The act of giving is highly personal, and we encourage every family to consider an amount that is meaningful for them. Gifts to our Annual Fund range from $25 to $25,000 plus. Participation in, and commitment to, the Annual Fund Campaign is a gift in and of itself. Your gift, combined with others from our school community, helps turn dreams into reality.

HOW CAN FAMILIES SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN?

DOUBLE YOUR DONATION!

THE PLEWES FAMILY CHALLENGE

Thanks to the generosity of the Plewes family, all donations up to $25,000 will be matched dollar for dollar!

TRIPLE YOUR DONATION

Triple your impact by accessing your Employer’s Matching Program.

It is essential that an institution such as this be supported financially as it continues to excel and lead in the community, and we are very pleased to make it a philanthropic priority for our family. The committed Calgary Academy professionals – leaders, administrators, and teachers alike - do incredible and efficient work with the resources they have. We appreciate them wholeheartedly for that, and we know that they will use all incremental funding to the enduring advantage of their students.
